Good day all! - I plan on going to pick up a pair of Blue Slate and a pair of Royal Palm turkeys in the next week or so. I was wondering what is the prime breeding years for turkeys? I know chickens are different that pfowls but did not know about turkeys.
Any advice would be awesome!
I have a few extra Selfblue pullets/Hens and I might have some younger silver quail pullet I could try and part with. Let me do some looking.
I hope to have some Mottled, black and maybe a few blue/splash coming to me soon. I can ask if they have any others to part while I am working with...
Wish it was warm enough here for mine to lay and start hatching.
Aubrey you know anyone that might have another line of blues, mottled or mille off the top of your head? Looking at trying to get some now to start on hatching this spring.
It is the buffs, I have some pure ones I will hold back for you also for later on this fall. Remind me later on and let me know how many you want and I can set them aside for ya.
You need to get working on yours.......top on your list to do right :)
Aubry I thought I would share this picture to see if you can tell what I am working on. As you can see on one of them their feathers on the sides are a bit dark :)
I know some of you use facebook and some do not but thought I would throw out a link if you would like.

A few of us was talking at a show not to long ago and thought...
I should be going to the March 10th one also but not sure how many birds I will be bringing.
I am putting my blues and quails out of show pens today to start breeding .
If they dont look to rought I might bring them along.
Aubrey, I understand about the kid, I am sure you had a much better...
Aubrey you missed a good show this weekend, you should have come on up.
I think we had a total of 108 show up in the d'Anver side.
Total of 1800 birds also I believe.
I will be watching babies also but will space my hatching out a few days so I wont have any on that weekend.
We usually set it up well so only hatch once every week and put in eggs once a week..........keeps a nice pace.
I think there will be a few coming down from ohio...
Last year Tom and Tim came and Jeff said that Romer was coming.
I am guess we will have a big showing..........sadly my birds are looking a bit rough right now........even with them being in show pens!
I think there is going to be one in March also.
I heard this one was going to have a few folks showing up also, so it should be a good showing of d'Anvers
Aubrey-
Why dont you try and make it up to Dalton on the 4th of Feb?
Jeff Brandon and I was talking about it thought we would shoot you an invite, have some good talks over some food and birds.
I was wondering why the d'anver thread had been so quiet while I was on vacation..........seems I did not check it after the last email. I come back today and their is like 8 pages worth!
I hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year!
It first of the year and Spring will be here in no...
If I am not badly mistaken I think you will get all silver pullets and quail roosters( maybe some off color roos).
I think I had asked this questions before and entered it into the calculator and it seems to work out that way.
I believe either Aubrey or Nic... told me this in the past post.
