now when we let the chickens out in the morning they run to the guinea's feeder to get the higher protein food but the guineas sneak in to the chicken coop and eat the calcium rich chicken food:rolleyes:
ps: haven't been on BYC for a while but wish you all good health in these covid ridden days
We got chickens a while ago they are full grown so we started free ranging them.
the first time we let them out the guineas had to try to show them who was boss and chased them around for awhile but the chickens almost looked like they couldn't be bothered
Hi guys, I haven't been on byc for a while so thought I'd catch up on this thread.
There are some interesting topics too :). Are neighbors had 2 male guineas that would always come over and hang out in front of the 'chicken' tractor that had some younger guineas in it 'cause there was a couple...
My first guinea hatch is under way:jumpy:yesss: after rolling them eggs over 3 times a day for 25 days though I did forget a few times  Three keets so far with 21 more eggs.
By the way what is a good hatch rate for guineas?
Thanks!:)
It's kinda neat cause I have seen the mom already when I went fishing in the neighbors pond a little ways from our house. It was chasing our dog away:eek: it looked hilarious!
A poult showed up this evening that was just getting a few of its feathers on its wings.
I keep guineas and have keets at the moment so I have a brooder set up:yesss:. I just put him in a box with game bird starter and water under the heat lamp in the brooder.
I'd like advice :)
Hi I have a question. I did not want to read all 278 pages of this thread so sorry if it has been asked before. I am going to hatch guineas and want to know when to merge them with the flock of 8 I already have.
