Hi everyone. Unfortunately, she didn’t make it and I lost her a few hours ago. I felt around for an egg, I gave her some electrolytes, and kept her warm. I did my best to keep her comfortable. I don’t think there was anything I could have done, but I don’t know.
Thank you all for your posts...
My girl is not doing well, so this post may be a bit long trying, to give as much detail as possible.
HISTORY
She is middle aged (not sure exact age), has two friends who are perfectly fine, but has taken a turn for the worse. I think she might be a golden sussex, but I'm not positive...
I have an adult chicken who is struggling to poop. Yesterday she had a prolapse and it was put into place by my vet (I'm a new chicken owner and did not feel qualified to do it). They told me to watch and make sure she is pooping okay. She seemed to have some thinner poop that was passing...
Below are some pictures, including the label of the supplement. I introduced the additional egg supplement after she started having issues. They really like it and I keep it in a separate container so they can snack on it whenever. They get layer pellets as their regular diet and I also give...
Hi Everyone. I posted this in the health section, and have continued to do research, including reading the common egg quality problems article. No one really responded in the other section so I'm reviving this one since I am still having issues with my girl. I believe she is almost done molting...
I have three hens, all old enough to be egg layers. One of mine, I think a golden sexlink (she was a stray that didn't leave so I kept her and got her friends), started molting around October. She continued laying regular strong eggs. I live in Albuquerque and we have had a very mild winter...
Thanks for the responses so far. I will add this to the health section also. I have no idea how old she. I found her about a year ago and she was old enough to lay at that time, but that is my only clue. Very informative link also. I had run across that one last night to get a better...

Thanks everyone! The chickens seem to be doing a bit better. We have four water stations and four food stations. The sexlink is allowing the others to eat and drink now, but she is still a bully and will chase and peck them throughout the day. We've started to hang grapes in various places to...
Thank you guys so much! I did a visual introduction first, but only for one day. Originally we had planned on longer, but the place I got the new ones from said that if I kept the new ones together for too long that they will gang up on the original sexlink so I should just put them together...
Hello,
I am new to chickens and am having some problems. A stray laying hen (we think golden sexlink) started living in my yard and we decided to keep her after a month. She's very friendly with us and loves attention. We now have a coop and a decent sized fenced run, but wanted her to be part...
