What Are You Listening To Right Now?

I didn't know whether to create a new thread or leave this in a pre-existing thread (etiquette-wise), but this is my mash-up featuring clips some badass Muscovies, Notorious B.I.G. and Thomas the Tank Engine - The combination you didn't realise you needed in your life. Hope fans of these unique...

Muscovy Duck - Eye full of white discharge

Thanks, the eye actually looks better in terms of the white infiltrate disappearing and no more white discharge (just with vetericyn eye wash, hadn't started antibiotics before taking this photo) I think you are right and that he had a small abrasion. Will keep a close eye and keep washing with...

Muscovy Duck - Eye full of white discharge

Thanks a lot, I'll try to hunt some down. In the mean time, do you have any experience with standard chloramphenicol 1%? I'm in the UK and that's what we have in stock for humans (safe on animals too) so I can easily start that until I find some terramycin.

Muscovy Duck - Eye full of white discharge

Hi there, I hope I'm posting this in the right place (really sorry if not). My muscovy drake started developing a watery eye yesterday with white discharge, which is now an eye full of white discharge. Yesterday: Today: (Other Eye:) He is otherwise systemically well, if a little...

Worried about Mareks - my only pullet (13 weeks old)

Thank you, she is doing well. Back to before, the last thing which came back was her "little general" attitude which has now returned. Still looking out for signs of fluctuations but I guess it's good that she has been normal for four days now. Keeping up the more intense vitamin...

Worried about Mareks - my only pullet (13 weeks old)

She is starting to walk a bit better, whereas before when she attempted to walk it was like she was on a tightrope, now it looks more normal. So things are improving (many thanks to everyone here for advice) but I know we aren't out of the woods yet as symptoms can always fluctuate for all...

Worried about Mareks - my only pullet (13 weeks old)

Thanks for all the advice - she is still sitting mainly but her stance looks a lot more healthy than it was before - her leg no longer splayed out. She seems more alert and is eating even better (with vigour actually). Still not drinking much, though I've soaked her feed as you suggested...

Worried about Mareks - my only pullet (13 weeks old)

I came to visit her before her bed time and she got up and walked a foot towards and then into my hands. Sweet bird. Otherwise been the same, not wanting to drink water but eating fine.

Worried about Mareks - my only pullet (13 weeks old)

Thank you. No significant improvement yet, photos below. New Symptoms: She has lost a few feathers from her belly area. She is also scratching herself against the floor. No obvious mites/lice at all. Poo normal. As Vitamin B2 (riboflavin) deficiency can cause dermatitis as well as the leg...

Worried about Mareks - my only pullet (13 weeks old)

I'm from the UK (very late here and can't sleep even though I've got work in a few hours). I can't seem to find Poly-vi-sol locally but will try to look more tomorrow. Hoping that the nutri-drops/intervits that I've started have the same kind of ingredients though. I gave her B complex...

Worried about Mareks - my only pullet (13 weeks old)

She is eating (though was eating less yesterday so this seems to have improved) and drinking, pooping. But not interested in moving which is very different from what she was like before. I gave her some B complex yesterday I've only just started her on vitamins today which are these ones...

Worried about Mareks - my only pullet (13 weeks old)

Thanks for the link and advice, I really hope you're right! I have made a mistake of giving her chick crumb for a bit too long rather than grower. Looking at the ingredients list, B is missing: Would be very unlucky for my first to have Marek's but that's life.
