I do lock them up at night but only for my peace of mind. We don't really have any predators around us. We used to have a lot of cats prowling around but as soon as they met my Malamute Gracie, they kinda stopped calling in!
We do have dried meal worms and they are on my shopping list, along...

I put some in their bathtub and after a while they found it and went diving for it, great to watch! I also added some to their normal food but might soak some overnight in future.

Thanks for the info @Yoles32. I'm in the UK so McGeary's isn't an option for me. Seems the only thing I can get locally is plain old layers pellets. Ill have to do some more digging around I think!
So I kinda chased them out the shed eventually. Didn't take them long to find my garden pond!
So our summer holiday is done and our two new arrivals are tucked up in their new bed for the night. Thought it best to let them calm for tonight as my two kids decided to bring them home on their knees in the back of the van 'so they could see where they where going' Pfft!

Hmm. I have to pick two from a pen with four in it tomorrow. They are still young and would have liked to have taken a pair. I don't know if they have developed enough colouring yet to be able to sex them. Oh well, I guess ill have to take my chances!
