I think they might be getting too much calcium at that point though, lol. I use oyster shell grit for their calcium needs and that's giving them a 3% calcium level. I also use game bird layer pellets now, so I might just make some brownies or something :>

Yikes, that looks like a rat attack. I'm so sorry, I've never had this happen to my beloved quail, but I've seen chickens who have been attacked by rats and the rats burrow under the ground to where their cage is and eat their feet from under the ground. I hope your quail can recover soon, best...

Welp, we don't have a male because males are WAY too loud, and I have no other pets. I'm also way too sick of eating quail eggs every day.

Agh, she doesn't do it anymore! The diet is fine, everything is fine THERE'S NO PROBLEM, she just accidentally ate some. It has only happened 2 times EVER, I just wanted to make sure that it was fine.
