For the EE breeds the males tend to get their bright red combs between 2-4 months old while females take up to 6-7 months old. It feels like every female EE I had will take longer than any other bird to start laying. But they are beautiful birds and I love their beards and their out of the would...
With this breed watch its comb, the boys will develop their bright red combs before 4 months old. While females can take up to 6 to 7 months old to get their combs.
I love all my babies 🥰 was just curious what the possibility could be because of egg production. I’m probably going to have a good amount of boys. That’s been my luck lately, but they are all still so adorable.
I hatched about 30+ eggs the people who I got them from sent me a picture of the rooster. She said she has a lot of hens and she doesn’t know all their breeds. So what could the hens be if this is their dad.
If im not mistaken 6 and 7 might be sex links. Seems like 4 is a brahma with the feather feet and white and black color patterns. I don’t know about the others. This might not be the correct answer. From my experience with chickens it’s what I’ve gathered.
I was supposed to get 2 splash slikies but both of them are completely a different color I can see the splash on the white one but I can’t on the blue. Wondering what slikie is the one I have now. If you can tell me if they are boys or girls would be great but I’ve been told you can’t. They are...
So I got a lot of eggs from a lady she said they are all barn yard mixes. Well she informed me of the rooster and hasn’t told me the hens. While looking at the chicks I believe I have some black sex links and red sex links. Yes I have assorted slikies I got some of her slikie chick eggs as well...
I got these boys from a trades day in a local city. I’ve had them ever since they was babies. I believe they have white leghorn mix because they have huge waddles and combs but I have no idea what the hen was. I got all 4 from the trades day, yes one is a girl. Hopefully these pictures will do...
Hello everyone, I’m getting my chickens back and I’ve been getting eggs and hatching chicks. I right now have 3 small coops and we have several (7) rooster and (4)hen. I’m wanted to set up a rooster colony so when they get a good size I can throw them in the freezer. I like having my girls...
My old neighbor gave me several eggs to hatch to help me start back up with a flock. He had all sort of chickens. So the breeds I have no idea just give your best guess. Yes I’ve had 3 blue eggs that I hatched. I think the one with the beard and feather feet is too cutie!
The other black one was supposed to been another fizzle but clearly it’s not. I believe it might be aulstrop but don’t know for sure. I got them from a hatchery and they was supposed to been 2 splash slikies, 2 sliver laced polish and 2 fizzles.
I haven’t raised these types of babies. I had someone stop by and say my blue slikie is a girl and my white is a boy. I know there are tell to tell signs but wondering if anyone can help point them out.
Does it matter the top of the polish? I see that they are coming in differently. One is more like a mow hawk and the other is coming up like a palm tree.
