8 week old peachick lethargic, droopy wings, dehydrated

Safeguard does not mix in water and you have to continually stir it in the water and then its iffy if they get enough of it drinking it. Your better off putting it on foods they will eat. Scrambled eggs or Sunflower seeds or what have you. Or give it orally. Poop is poop and it all smells nasty...

    Is my peacock sick?

My bad your right, the dose was for mature birds not young and should be adjusted by the weight of the birds. My dose was for the adult birds as stated above 12-15 lbs not chicks. Sorry for the confusion. However, how it was explained to me was , first you get cocci which are pooped out into...

    Is my peacock sick?

23mg per lb of bird works out to over 250mg per bird but 250mg per bird is safe as an adult pea of 2 or better if between 12 and 15 lbs. My females are 2 and my male is 6. I weighed them all prior to treating and only after consulting the MSU vets did I use the dose that worked.

    GREEN POOP

The meal worm looks like a left over uneaten, your bird didnt poop out a whole meal worm as it would have been digested and unrecognizable especially if your bird had the worms which strip your birds of all viatimins and nutrients and proteins producing the runs and watery stool. Sounds like you...

    Worming help

I would wait till they double the size of the chickens as all the chickens will gang up on one bird at a time till they kill it then go for the other. Chickens are known to contract coccidiousis and may be immune to it where as your peafowl are not and it could kill them so watch for all the...

Ive already tried and tested this dosage on my birds of 1 packet per bird and it cured them. One packet is 250mg of metronidazole , the suggested dose I learned from top MSU Vets here in Michigan, which kills the protozoan carrying the disease, and the other ingredient is 75mg of P*****...

    Is my peacock sick?

You need to put them on Corrid for 5 to 7 days immediately followed by electrolytes in water as doses are posted on this site, Safeguard will not work on coccidiousis. If you see no changes or they get sick again then you have the cocidiousis mutated into black head and Corrid will not work and...

Help, gunna lose another hen have no clue why!

Coccidiousis treated with Corrid usually works but not always and if its mutated into Black head then Amprolium will not work and metronidazole will be needed or dimetronidazole in extreme cases because it is the protozoan that is almost impossible to kill and can survive in soil for 3 yrs...

I Am Getting a Peahen (As Soon As My Neighbor Catches Her!)

Using a blanket catch her on her roost at night using a flashlight as a distraction, use cantaloupe or sunfower seeds as bait and set a live trap on a trip wire or put a mirror in the back of the cage where she is roaming and when she sees herself she will investigate the other bird

The chickens will kill them if they are together as chicks, they need to be full grown before you put them in with the chickens or expect deaths from chickens pecking to death your baby pea fowl.

medicated feed with amprolium for starters then follow the recommendations using Valbazin and Safeguard, Safeguard is easy to use as you can not over medicate and can be mixed in with sunflower seeds instead of forcing down the throat but other meds you will have to do that if you want them to...

I would go with metronidazole down the throat for 10 days you get it at Pets Supply Plus, 10 packs per box by API found in the fish section. On peafowl its one packet per bird. On chickens Im not sure but if they are large like peas then you should be ok to treat the same. Mix with a tablespoon...
