#3 Sadly died in the egg, I had opened the front up and was keeping the vein ridden membrane dampened but sadly she just quit. #2 has been fully out of the egg since 10am and going strong. I did offer her a tiny bit of water which she gladly took. She has bee very vocal all morning, she is only...
Still yawning a bit, but coconut oil doing the trick on the membrane. Everyone has gone quiet now, #1 was driving me dinky running all over the bator so put a teddy bear in with him to settle him down. Ok I take it back #2 Is cheeping away now.
It has some yolk on its beak but I haven't seen any gurgling. I'm really not confident to be pulling more off right now. I knicked a vein with #1 last night and spent the full hour wait crying.....
@ronott1 start working on #2? He is cheeping like crazy and tapping on the egg, I put a safety hole in this morning, still go ahead? #3 is quieter and as far as I can gather not ready to come out as he is about 2 1/2 days behind #1.
My temps have been sitting at 37.5° and 38° should they be higher?
@DwayneNLiz thanks will go get a fan and work on the bator once all the ducklings are out and in the brooder. I don't plan on incubating unless it's an absolute emergency.
A long night of dampening membrane and now this. He is giving it a real go! @ronott1 how much time is enough? The 2nd and 3rd egg aren't showing signs and it's been approx 60hrs and 36hrs respectively. They are just chilling in the air cells.
@DwayneNLiz @WVduckchick getting a little desperate here..... shell is developing brown spots on the top, keeping outer membrane moistened but that inner membrane is looking dodgy. Please advise. He is cheeping away but can't seem to wriggle.
