    Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

The only other thing I can think of is tail feathers. The black one (not 100% sure on either of their breeds, as they were eggs from a straight run flock) has more rounded tail feathers that are pointing up. The lavender one has thinner pointier tail feathers and I think they're starting to droop

    Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Hey guys! Been a while since I posted anything about the chicks we hatched. So I figured I'd post a few pictures and ask if anyone could tell me if one or the other looks like a male. We're calling them Thelma and Louise righr now. They're both very sweet and both (from what I can tell) do the...

The eggs are bluish green. I'm never sure which to call it. She didn't have any Easter Eggers. Just the Ameraucanas.

On second thought, the silvery one could be a Blue Wyandotte. That was on my list and she does kind of look like a Blue Wyandotte chick... Hmmmm... Well I guess I'll just have to keep posting about their progress and have everyone help me to determine what they are :D

    Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Well that's a tough question. I have six eggs but can only confirm that the two green ones I have are either black or blue Ameraucanas. The other four are a mystery. I was given a list of the different breeds that Fruitful Farms in Arlington (where I got the eggs) had and just did research for...

Keeping Hawks out of my run

Glad I saw this. Hawks were one of my only worries when my husband and I started talking about chickens. Our plan is to totally cover most of the run with a roof and any unroofed area will have hardware cloth. That way we're covered for and little critters climbing over the fence or through the...
