I need some advice quickly as we have a silkie that went broody & the eggs have begun to hatch. We are new to this & we now realize we aren't prepared. Is it best to seperate the hen & chicks from the rest of the flock? We are thinking about building a seperate outdoor "brooder" area for them...
Their legs really aren't that yellow. They are more pink. The coloring is not the best in the pic. I will try to get some better pics today.
I hope the white one is an EE. We plan on getting some EE.
We got some chicks a few weeks ago. They are about 3 weeks old now. They were supposed to be all Buff Orphs but one is so different. It was very light yellow but is feathering out white and you can't see them in the pic but her legs are a gray color.
We are on day 22. We had 4 hatch yesterday and 2 today. We have two that are pipped including the one that pipped yesterday. We have left it alone. Just wondered if there was something we could do. Thanks for the response. I guess we'll just pray and hope for the best:)
We are experiencing our first hatch:) But we have an egg that pipped yesterday afternoon and has made very little progress since. I haven't really seen any movement this afternoon. The pip is a little closer to the small end than the big end. Should we do something to help this little guy?
