    I have hens with hackle feathers. This one has that but not a very pronounced comb. Pray for a hen, I have enough roos.

    I've had all types and breeds. Brahma's are wonderful as are the Barred Rocks. I don't know the weather where you live. I was just thinking of heat friendly birds. I live in a hot summer/mid temp winter. I've had birds die from heat but not cold. See what most have in your area and go...
