    Hey there, just found the Texas thread. I am in Brenham, moved here from SoCAL a little over 2 years ago and have 7 hens and a rooster (thanks to grandson's pre-school hatching). Very much a newbie at everything Texas but love it here!

    I do already have a separate pen which we call the "chicken play yard" because it can be closed off from the main coop/yard. We also have another bigger coop under construction. Thank you all for the advice. I really appreciate it and will make sure that I have a bachelor pad ready if needed.
