Actually it’s turkey and duck poo. I added it to the compost/dirt pile this morning for the girls to blend it for me so I can use in my vege garden in a few months. Smells bad but they love it and I always have lovely fresh veges thanks to them
First sign of bloodiness and she is jailed. I don’t even allow her time to even think of sitting on nest. Usually I break her within a few days but this time it’s nearly a week already and she is still making the broody noises. Let’s hope tomorrow morning it’s stopped
Very sad but I love her so much.....I’m just waiting for her to break the brood and see if the pattern of every 10 days continues then I may just have to relocate her
Thanks so much for your feedback. She is definitely broody. If she is out of the small cage she will walk around the run and pick up dried grass any flyaway straw even gum leaves and put them on her back. She even picks up bits in the dirt and calls her imaginary babies. It is quite...
The water was cold but this chicken is really weird she seemed to be enjoying it I was splashing her under body and crop and she was falling asleep. She is back in her cage I have been watching her she hasnt sat down yet
I had no trouble in the past jailing her on the floor. I don’t have a wire bottomed cage. I.have read in comments that this is what is needed Looks like if she continues I might have to re home as it’s kinder for all
Thank you for your feedback I will go out now and try doing this now. I went out a few minutes ago and she fluffed up triple her size so looks like harsher action is required for my broody girl
I’m in southern NSW. Not going to let her breed as we are country NSW I don’t have the area to breed her in as everything needs to be fixed proofed. Just going to have to let her sit it out and maybe if it keeps occurring as frequent try to advertise her in local buy and sells
