They do seem better - moving around more. At least one of them has normal poop, a couple others its still runny but did not look bloody.
Pigeon even came outside when I threw out some scratch, but didn't eat any. She is moving around more. I did give her the undiluted Corid again per...
Do you know when I might start seeing an effect? to know whether its working? In a few days?
Sorry to be such a pest, I'm just so upset. I should have been more observant.
I got a little medicated water into her, but she is struggling so much. I don't want her to use all her energy fighting with me. She has always hated being picked up.
I got the liquid and gave the first dose by dropper per instructions to all that I could catch and hold. Husband should be home soon to help with the rest.
I also switched to the treated water per instructions. I'm heartsick over my poor columbian Wyndotte "Pigeon". She looks terrible...
Thanks so much - I stupidly don't have any on hand and local feed does not carry it - placed order for delivery tomorrow. Is there anything I can do in meantime? I have Nutri-drench. Will that help or hinder?
3 others are acting lethargic and I could see evidence of runny poop on them. It has a different smell.I found blood on an egg - so the poop is bloody. The one I saw was very watery.
They were vaccinated for Marek's disease - so I think I'll try Corid.
They don't seem right to me - the weather has been rainy and yucky, but they seem to be spending more time inside than they normally do, even given the weather.
I have not seen others with runny poop - and there is normal poop in the run, but there are 11 of them so I'm not sure about all of them. They are molting - but getting new feather tips. Laying fewer eggs, but I thought that was due to molting (new chicken owner).
They get pelleted layer feed (they are a year old). Some scratch grains every day and vegetable scraps (lettuce, cucumber, zucchini, apples with seeds removed). I've also given them parslane and dandilion that I weed out of my vege gerden (organic - no lawn sprays)
Help!
I was gone for 2 days (daughter watching hens) and checked this morning. One was dead in the coop. Another barley alive. Took it inside to give some water and it struggled a little, had a big watery poop and died on the kitchen floor.
Help - what do I do for the other hens? I have 11...
I just joined this weekend and was asking when to uncover the nest boxes. Everyone said do it now - and they were right!
We missed 2 - discovered them in front of the nest boxes - so got them uncovered and the ceramic eggs in.
Look what I found today - right in the nest box where it belongs...
