And an update on the other cross SLO/Pavlovskaya
Yes! I think they have the best of both parents. They are beautiful, LARGE, and very very friendly. Their feathers are silky soft like the wyandottes. I love all my birds but these in particular are quite special!
Ok here is an update on the original chicks of this post
I gave away the males so no longer have them to compare to but the girls are filling in/feathering out beautifully. And compared to other chicks the same age they are huge!
10-11 weeks old
So far they are everything I wanted out of...
Interesting development- I put 6 more eggs in the incubator of what I thought were Silver laced orpington and Wyandotte cross( was hoping to get an even 10 females) but lo and behold- looks like my only other little Pavlovskaya roo got a little action with the ladies when King's (wyandotte roo)...
Here is one of them @ 3 weeks. They wouldnt stay still so pic is a bit blurry. Male is on the right female left. Male still has no shoulder or tail feathers
Will post again at 4 weeks!
UPDATE; Even though the eggs got cold for 12 hours when the power went out, I am so pleased to say that ALL babies hatched on time and without event! And they are all healthy and beautiful.🥰
Oh I forgot to add- The temperment of these chicks is very calm and sweet. Super cuddly. They are notably very quiet and not easy to startle. I think the word to describe them is "chill";) So far I am in love with them

In the wild animals eat fermented fruit thats fallen from trees all the time. They seem to be really attracted to it and get quite tipsy! Lol. You can watch youtube videos of drunk squirrels and deer it's hilarious
Last night we had a pretty bad storm (Cali) and the power went out for TWELVE hours. I also happened to have 12 eggs going in the incubator that were on day 10. I thought for sure I lost them all. After the power came back on and the incubator warmed back up I checked the eggs for signs of...
I have a chicken who lost an eye so now we call her Popeye Chicken
I once had a duck named Poobill Hoover
-on account of the fact that she ate poop and was like a little duck vaccum. And then there was her partner Cirby McPockets
