    I wouldn't suggest replacing feed with greens, just as an iron supplement, but that's an interesting article. Thanks for the info., Flock Master!

    As far as the run part, I looked at various designs on line and took in as much info as I could get. The step by step pics are great! We buried our hardware cloth 2 feet down and out, all around (except for the door, of course), to prevent critters from being able to dig their way under.

    It's been a while since I logged on, but no, I'm sorry, I don't. It was actually a run-down pigeon loft that someone on Craig's list was giving away. Although much of it was rotted, it had a good, strong foundation, so we stripped it down to bare bones and rebuilt it.

    Oh, that's great news The dark leafy greens are the best..spinach, kale, chard and the like.

    I have the same problem with one of my hens, Neenee. I've always used DE in the coop, but it didn't stop one of my hens from getting mites. By the time I realized she had them, she was infested. I've isolated her from the others, cleaned out the coop with hot soapy water and a little bleach...
