Females will be darker and look more speckled. Males will be more white with more barring. With white legs and beaks they do look like American cuckoo Marans.
If they are about 6-8 weeks any with red combs and waddles are more then likely 90% male. Females won’t pink up until they are ready to...
As others have said you can give her an all flock, flock raiser or grower this way she is getting the nutrients she needs in order to survive. If you do not want to feed her layer you should still give her oyster shells on the side. Even if you don’t want her to lay she will and without the...
Two to the left are both boys. The darker one might be a boy too but I would want to see more pictures. Females can have small spots on the tops of their head but they are usually much darker with more defined stripes.
Here are some pictures of my girls when they were young so you can see the...
It does look like a Cuckoo Marans. Cuckoos have white legs and feet and white beaks. They also have uneven barring. At 13 weeks that seems awful red in the face. More pictures would help.
They may be eating that way because they know that’s the only food they are getting for awhile. Unless you have meat birds they only eat what they need they don’t pig out. The other chickens may be heavy because of being fed too many treats and or scratch. As stated above limiting food and...
Our blrw cockerel didn’t crow until almost 19 weeks and we didn’t have any other boys around so sometimes it can take them awhile to give more obvious signs. I hope you do have some girls though and not late boys :fl
They look more like barred rocks based on foot color. Their legs look awfully yellow. Also you have at least one male barred rock. He is the one who is much whiter.
Yellow legs and beak means it’s a barred rock and not a Cuckoo. Plus Cuckoo look more speckled where barred rocks have more defined lines (barring). Also Cuckoos don’t lay very dark eggs only French black copper Marans lay dark eggs.
The bird in the 3rd picture looks like an Easter Egger.
You have to breed a barred female to a non barred male to produce barred sex links. Males will have the barring gene and females won’t. 2nd generation sex links won’t actually be sex linked.
Here are some of my girls around 6 weeks for reference. I think they just grow some big combs early lol they are all laying now. They started around 16 weeks.
Hens require a lot of sunlight to lay an egg. Daylight is getting shorter each day so they are producing less and less now. Plus most hens, depending on age will be starting to molt which also stops production.
