They are both 10 weeks old.
Guesses on genders?
Does the BLRW have black or blue coloring?
Does anyone know what color the d’anver would be considered?
Thank you!
Thanks for the advice, everyone. I ended up zip tieing the skirt to the metal frame and it worked well. It’s been almost a month now and we’ve seen the fox three times, but we haven’t seen evidence of it trying to break in yet. It’s probably been watching and I’m sure it’s only a matter of time...
I have two 7.5 week old BLRW chicks. One is definitely a cockerel. The other I’m not so sure about. She/he has a single comb, so it’s more difficult to compare her to her brother. Photo #1 is the chick in question. Photo #2 is the chick (right) next to her brother (left).
We bought the Producer's Pride Defender coop secondhand and are trying to make it completely predator proof. We are moving to a new house this weekend and there is a mama fox with four kits who have a den probably 20 feet from the back fence line. This thing needs to be solid. Modifications...
All five are around 8 weeks old now. I’m 95% sure the lavender and blue orpingtons are cockerels, but if someone can confirm, that would be great. I think the buff cochin is a hen. No color on her comb and only small wattles. I gave her brother away weeks ago because he had a huge red comb and...
They’re all 6-7 weeks old, so I might have to post again in a couple weeks, but let me know your thoughts. I know the silkies are probably not possible to sex at this point but I’m throwing them in here anyway.
Lavender Orpington
Blue Orpington
Buff Cochin
White silkie
Black silkie
Yeah, the wattles are especially making me nervous. The other two I have are silkies so I'm not even going to bother to post those. I really hope I don't get 6 out of 6 cockerels.
They’re still really young, but let me know if you have any guesses.
1- buff cochin. I think she’s a pullet after comparing to the one below.
2 - another buff cochin. assuming cockerel.
3 - Lavender (blue?) orpington
4 - Lavender orpington 2
Oh it's already started for sure. I actually already have a Silver Laced Wyandotte and an Australorp. These are just some of the new additions (if they turn out to be pullets, at least)!
