Yes we did starter, I believe my husband stepped on him…while mowing the grass the turkeys were following him and turkey got under his feet and was stepped on. He limped on it but seem to be okay…then he fell in the pond and I think injured his leg further.

The joint is swollen and bruised and he can not put any weight on it. The purplish area is smooth, it isn’t broken skin. I put medicine on it just incase. We can not take turkey to the vet, unfortunately. I will have to try to treat him at home. Do you think I should splint it or just keep him...

Yeah, it’s the wound that worries me..if it was just swollen I could split it and keep it stabilized but with the wound I’m not sure what I should do! At the moment I’m just keeping her safe, off her leg and putting medicine on the wound. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Sorry for your loss. Do the chicks has roosting bars? a couple levels so they can get high enough off the ground. It may help. And maybe some chicken wire could keep the bigger snakes out & keep the ventilation open. It is always hard the first time, learning what works and what doesn’t work...
