I don't see mites or lice. I don't know if she stopped laying. Is it possible she started molting? She is only 8 months old or so.

So I thought I noticed that one of my three buff Orp's look a little small recently. Today I noticed that she has significant feather loss around her head and her comb looks diminished and pale. Anybody have any idea what's going on? And should I separate her from the rest of the chickens?

Thank you for your response! We quickly decided to scrap the idea, but I am still curious, nonetheless. Thanks also for the link on ventilation. In planning our coop and we want to make sure there is enough passive ventilation for the winter when the adjustable windows wont be opened. :thumbsup

Haha! Well, we HAVE already discussed future furry possibilities. We will see how chickens go, then maybe later on we will add some goats and a donkey or alpaca. I definitely want to keep bees, which will be next but that will have to wait until next year. There is much to do on the property...
