    You and me both on the beak. It makes it look like a hawk compared to my Rhode Island Reds that are about the same age. Very long beak.

    Just an update. The lil rescue chicken has healed up and is standing on her injured foot now after wearing a shoe I made for it. Her wings are down like a Bantan and her coloring is a splash. I still think its a mixed breed. No crown or wattle so debate is still ou if male or female. I'm still...

    Thank you! I will try the sling right away. The splinting manual is a huge help. I attempted wrapping her foot she was able to stand and eat for about 5 minutes but I think I will read the manual and re wrap.

    It cand stand on its leg or maybe it's the foot. I'm no expert but doesn't appear broken. Small wound at the leg joint, and on its back. Eyes and beak is clear.

    What is the best natural antibiotic I can use for an injured chicken? Are there any over the counter pain meds that are safe to use, and what dosage for a 7 - to 8 week old chicken? Fully feathered?

    You are probably right. I did a wrap on it's leg and foot this morning and found it has tail feathers that were stuck underneath. What kind of chicken I'm not sure. Maybe a mix.

    It looks like it's tail feathers were pull out. Only one showing. It has pin feathers.
