Hi,
First time incubating chicken eggs.
So far, I had two that hatched last night and an additional two that are pipped. One has a zipper line and you can see it trying to get out, but seems stuck. The other one’s pip hole hasn’t really gotten bigger. You can see the beak moving.

I actually get my eggs this Saturday! Doing 10 Ameracaunas and already know I should probably sign up for Incubators Anonymous.. already in a chickens anonymous group. :hugs
WOW, this is excellent information. Thank you!
I'll make sure to keep the eggs away from the motor since I'll only have a dozen. Will look into your tin foil boat method! If you think of anything else, please feel free to share. I've been trying to read up on this as much as possible the last...
Hi Everyone!
I've managed to keep all of my birds alive!!
My mystery hen is now 22 weeks and started laying a couple weeks ago. Here is a picture of her now -- any thoughts on what breed of chicken this is?

Should I be concerned? Should I apply anything on it?
Chicks are about 4 weeks old now and are at the point where they can reach their own vent. Does this mean they’re good to clean their own bums or should I still be checking them for pasty butt? They’ve been good for the past few weeks, and I’ve just been trying to be attentive.
Sweet! I’m happy with any. She’s the most social and friendly of the birds. And if she turns out to produce a higher yield, even better! (Now... let’s hope she is a she :))
Originally, I had my brooder set up in my barn. When I received my chicks, it was about 20 degrees in the morning. I had a couple that were dead on arrival, which was expected, but being a first time chick owner, I felt sooo bad and wanted to mitigate any other risks, so I relocated the chicks...
Ah, I may have overlooked this, but what age would IDing them be more accurate.
UPDATE: I just google searched the chicks, and this has to be the most similar looking chick to mine that I’ve seen so far.
