Not sure how long it take, couple of weeks, but I have 17 now and all but 5 have bare backs. I had three roosters out of the 25 I started with. Over time I culled the three roosters and still have bare backs. I have treated for mites to no avail. If it were mites I would think all of them would...

I agree with you 100%. I stopped using ivermectin a long time ago. Albendazole (valbazen) will take care of gapeworm as well as the ones you mentioned.
In detail for my 2 BB size brain, how do you give Albendazole (valbazen)? Can I spray chickens with it, or water them?
Exactly what...

Over a couple or three weeks one of my RIR hens legs started turning yellow and her comb faded to light pink and was swelling, she had a messy vent area. She was eating and drinking good and was lively. This morning she was dead on the coop floor.
Anyone have any idea what could have caused...
You can remove the pavers now or wait till later when your chickens start scratching holes around them. It is a natural thing for them to scratch and look.
I wanted to start with 25 birds so $2000 later I have a 10 X 12 with large run that so far nothing has gotten into. Poop door stays open 7x24. I have ferral cats that roam the area but no losses from breeching the run or coop. Before purchaseing birds I put an open can of tuna in the run over...

I agree with this paragraph entirely. The dogs should not have been attacking the cat, but if the cat had been contained it wouldn't have been killed. The owners of the dogs were WRONG. But so was the cat owner. JMO
Is this to say a ferral cat should suffer this...
I had 21 RIR hens and 3 RIR roos. I noticed that some of the hens were getting feathers missing from their back. After reading on here about all the things that could cause this I got rid of 2 roos, made sure they were getting enough protein and didn't suspect mites because all were not...
Ah Fred he's just being a roo.
There are 2 or 3 auctions around this area. One on McIntosh and one in the Cork area around McGee Rd. somewhere. I know of a person that has gone to both but I have not. I have heard that they don't pay you till the auction is over, sometimes late, at McIntosh. Do...
Horizonal door across the back with slide out and tilt down poop board. Takes me about 15 min a week. Plastic is to keep drafts out during winter it is gone now.
I have stacked 4 on 4 boxes just a little off the floor for the bottom ones like maybe 8-10".
I get most eggs in the bottom row but they do use them all but not every day. I have seen 2 hens in one box with 7 other boxes empty. I probably have more than I need. Just remember to keep the roost...
