I ordered five different colors of straight run oegb. I know what some of them are, but this little guy doesn't quite fit. I have narrowed it down, and he should be either lemon blue or blue Wheaten. Is he one of those, or did he sneak in from another batch? (The other colors I ordered were...
Y'all are not making me very happy right now... I already have a BCM cockerel who was supposed to be a girl, and I'm thinking one of my blue australorps might be a cockerel as well. I won't give up until I hear a crow or get an egg!
I would say two or three weeks? Not exactly sure how long but certainly much longer than any of my other girls. So I just keep an eye out for secondary infections and let it run its course?
I thought she had fowl pox, but she's had these lesions far longer than any of the other chickens have. Any idea what these are and what I should do for her?
That is totally normal behavior. Yesterday I found two hens and a duck in one nesting box. It seems as if they think that if one girl likes it, it must be the best one!

First of all, my ducks don't come into the coop at night. They would be welcome if they wanted to, but they choose to stay out. This spot on the fishing dock is where they will congregate. I noticed the chickens picking on them when they came to the coop for food, so I moved a bowl down to the...
I was able to get her into the Vet! She did a cytology on the goop and found nothing conclusive so she sent me home with some terramycin. Not definite answers, but she found nothing to be incredibly alarmed about either.🙂
First of all, there is dry fowl pox traveling through my flock. For the most part it is going well and the chickens are healing up quickly. But I have one hen, a five-month-old white-faced black Spanish, who has swelling and infection in both of her eyes. It's really smelly and very goopy. I...
