Really mean rooster!
In lieu of putting the mean guy in the crock pot, we simply put him in a separate enclosure in the main enclosure and he was forced to watch all the little chicks from this spring blossom into beautiful hens and didn't get to 'hang out' with them like he would have liked to! So, are all roosters so mean or mean in general or is his behavior caused by something in the way his previous owner raised him? I mean, if you hold them and give them lots of attention and stuff when they're babies can it prevent a rooster from being mean? I'm new at chickens.- Nd2lrnChx

We have acquired a really really mean rooster from a guy that posted on the local social media group here that said he had purchased what he was told were all females but one grew up to be a rooster. Hen quit sitting on eggs
One if our hens hasn't sat on her eggs for a day or so. I'm wondering how long an egg is okay and still viable to hatch if the hen has quit sitting on it? He's actually with about 20 chickens in the new larger enclosure we just put up last week but he's separated right now because he's in a pen inside the enclosure next to the babies area that has a fenced top until we get the top done over the whole thing. The owner of the birds says he will fly...
