My poor little chicken has been broody for a month and a half. Today is day 18 sitting on two eggs. I'm fairly certain one of them is dead and not sure about the other. She's been trying soooo hard!! I'm pretty sure the eggs aren't going to hatch. I'm also pretty sure this is a bad time of year...
My little serama keeps going broody. I don't have a rooster and the eggs she keeps wanting to sit on aren't going to hatch. I would love to find a few tiny eggs for her to try to hatch. I would LOVE to find serama eggs, but would also be happy with bearded d'anvers, bantam americauna, rose comb...
Hello,
This afternoon as I went out to give my chickens some table scraps, I noticed my rhodie had a weird looking eye. Upon further examination it is foamy and her face is swollen. I think there was some clear discharge coming out of her nose as well. She's eating well and moving about...
I have a serama as a house chicken. She's one of my favorite pets ever. She's a lot cleaner than my parrot and a lot more cuddly than my dog. I keep her in a guinea pig cage and when I'm home, she wears a diaper. I like the diaper with a pad, but in the evenings, she rarely defecates in the...
This little chick turned out to be an Easter Egger and is male. He's my FAVORITE chicken EVER and likes to take naps in laps. He's super tiny and a really pretty splash color, but mostly bluish gray with a few black spots. Thanks for all your help!
Updated pictures! I'm hoping chick is a girl and still don't think chick is an EE. She's much louder and doesn't have cute muffs. I'm certainly not an expert and lover chick regardless, but below are updated pictures! Any further guesses as to what she is and sex would be appreciated...
So I should have resisted, but didn't. This was the only one in the bin with no feathers on its feet... and the black splashy mark on the wing sold me... Even though it will probably change. The faint stripe behind the ear is on both sides, so I'm not sure if its random pink hatchery stains. I...
We have a young RIR cockerel... We are unsure if we want a rooster, but if we do, this is not the rooster for us. He's 6-8 weeks old and by far the largest of the ten chicks we raised together. He's free!!! and located in Ridgefield WA, but can deliver anywhere between ridgefield and Hillsboro.
One of our parrots is a grey. He lived at a petsmart for three years, then with a different family for three years and with us now for a year and a half. He HATES me, but loves bald men. They are neat birds! (I'm a pionus fan : ) )
No serama hens yet, understandably, people want to sell them as...
Coco fiber is toxic to dogs and cats . I know chocolate is toxic to parrots; I'd be leery of my chicks ingesting it. They do look like super happy chicks though!!!
(P.S. Yay Portland!)
Birds aren't a new thing for me, but after many, many years of fantasizing about chickens, my sister decided to keep chickens. She lives in Battle Ground, but I visit at least two times a week. I brooded most of the chicks because there is nothing cuter than baby birds! We have a mixed flock of...
