So far the big issue is the one girl just going into full on attack mode. She's never been a bully before, but she just terrorizes the new ones. Then the others get wound up and things get worse. It might be a thought to isolate the 'bully' and introduce the more docile ones, one at a time.

We have 3 Silkie hens ranging in age from 3 to 5 months. They all get along great with no issues.
We brought home two more silkie hens, one around 3 months and the other 5 1/2 months.
We are attempting to integrate the new ones into the flock and have been using the 'see but no touch' method...
Trim has been painted and a few other decorating touches. Added some toys in the run that they aren't quite sure about.
I think the local PD may be after us for zoning violations. We created a red-light district..
The sunshade on the run is a little makeshift for now; I'll be finding a better...
Other than a little paint and trim around the porch roof, and other odds and ends that may come up (Solar, Gutter, who knows) the Super Coop is DONE! I think I started this whole project around May 15. Worked on it 2 days a week (both my days off) since then. Finished the porch and porch roof at...
We decided on an 8' wide x 4' deep porch. I'll be starting on that in a few days I hope. We did move the gang into the new run today. They aren't quite sure what to make of it as it's so much more space! They have a swing, more roosting logs and a much bigger dust bath. They haven't explored the...
We are considering adding a plymouth rock or such to the flock of silkies. If we get a youngster and it's introduced when young, would they all get along ok in the long run?
I've seen a lot of posts about introducing Silkies to existing flocks but not the other way around. I don't want the...
The porch is next. I needed to get the Coop and Run done first - the flock is running out of room..
I MAY start on the porch on Wednesday but I still need to get the gutter installed and build a waterer and feeder.
The coop is finished. Other than roosts, a few odds and ends and the gutter, it's good to go! I will be continuing the front interior wall once I get more boards (I'm replacing a front section of my fence).
In addition to the inner-tube 'protector' for the hinge, I will also be installing gutters on both the coop and run and then filtering / collecting rainwater
I didn't take shop in school, although it was offered. I spent my childhood building things with my Dad. I used just about every skill he taught me to build this coop. I know a lot of schools don't offer shop anymore.
I'll be installing a section of inner-tube rubber along the hinge seam. It's an old-timer trick to protect the seam. My grandfather did the same thing on his coops. Sort of a flexible gasket.
I built the human door to the run today and also the POP door. I used 22" full-extension door slides for the POP door. The opening has been cut and I'm just waiting for paint to dry so I can install everything. I'm using garage door weatherstripping on the outside of the POP door to keep out...
I completed 2 more interior walls. I'm waiting on the final wall until I get the drop door installed. I have that, and the run door to get done and then just a few more interior details and a predator-proofing check. The roof went on the run yesterday. Oh, and I then move on to the covered front...
Walls painted, hardware cloth installed and run on the foundation! Making rafters next, then it's the roof and all the trim. The end is in sight! I started construction on 5/15!
