I've had a chick pop through regular chicken wire and disappear UNDER MY WATCH. I was right stinking there and never found the chick, I stayed out there past dark but it was gone. I now always keep my chicks enclosed in a run made with small hole chicken wire and with a top. I keep them beside...
I don't know if he really counts, but I've got Turken. I used to have Australorps and Orpingtons, but something killed most of my (20 chickens large) flock :( turken hung around though, along with two of his ladies. I have some pullets now, they are growing nicely. All are in chicken jail now...
So it started snowing and Turken was hunkered down next to a log, pathetically hiding from the wind... So now he can cozy up with his hens and his turtleneck!
I suspect multiple birds have gapeworm, including the rooster, which is why i want to treat them all. I didnt want to put this in the post to distract from my question, though... This is the first hen with seemingly serious issues, though sometimes I watch the birds raise their head up, open...

I cant answer your first two questions, but I would cut a pool noodle lengthwise so that it opens up and use foam insulation spray or something to hold it on the edge. Watch out with styrofoam, though, because chickens love the stuff
I baited the trap with some corn and mashed potatoes leftover from dinner, and caught a young raccoon last night. My mom is adamant that I don't kill them, although I filled the pond so it would just submerge the cage (cage is bigger than I thought) I think if I do end up dispatching some, I'll...
If I come through my chickens area with a big box, rake, or something of the likes, they run for the hills. They run from the straw bale until I put it down, then they love it. Although ive heard they're inclined to peck at red...
Just talked again to my mom about this, and she doesn't want me to dispatch the coon, because it might have babies that'll starve. She asked if I was okay with that, and I honestly think thats killing, like, 5 birds with one stone. Of course, I didn't tell her that, that would be rude. So...
