I don't know if he really counts, but I've got Turken. I used to have Australorps and Orpingtons, but something killed most of my (20 chickens large) flock :( turken hung around though, along with two of his ladies. I have some pullets now, they are growing nicely. All are in chicken jail now...

I suspect multiple birds have gapeworm, including the rooster, which is why i want to treat them all. I didnt want to put this in the post to distract from my question, though... This is the first hen with seemingly serious issues, though sometimes I watch the birds raise their head up, open...

I cant answer your first two questions, but I would cut a pool noodle lengthwise so that it opens up and use foam insulation spray or something to hold it on the edge. Watch out with styrofoam, though, because chickens love the stuff
