Lethargic 31wk ameraucana. But eating well?

Hi, We have 5 hens. All of them are living happily and they all started laying at the same time. Except one. She's not going well and she never laid a single egg. They are all 31 weeks old Ameraucanas. The problematic hen started ripping off her feathers at the base of her tail about one...

Hey! We just got those 3 new hens but we are not 100% sure of the breed. The person told us that it was Ameraucana but wasn't sure. They are not laying yet. Can anyone help us identify them? Thanks!

Hi! Our new Warren started laying a few days ago! Perfect brown eggs! But the problem is since we got her, she is sneezing, coughing and her nose is runny. Some days its worse, some days its better. Its most likely a respiratory infection and we will treat her eventually. So until we treat...

Thanks for your replies. We are getting a few more in the coop, we will avoid red sex links. Are there any other breeds that have similar reproductive issues? Thanks!

She never laid a single egg?

It was at the end of the tract, right before the opening! Could not see any more masses or yolks. This thing was at least 5-6 inch in diameter!

She never laid a single egg?

Well she is dead. I found her lethargic, not being able to move, decided that it was best to put her down. I opened her and found this bulky, hard mass. Thats what was making her so bloated. There was not really any fluid. Here's a shot of the mass cut in half. What is it?

She never laid a single egg?

Yesterday we noticed her breathing was noisy and seemed harder than usual. Today she's sitting in a nest and didn't get out of it. Her belly is quite hard, a bit squishy but definitely hard.

She never laid a single egg?

Hello micstrachan, thanks for your reply! Exactly! She sits on the white hen's egg everyday! We will examine her tomorrow. I think if the previous owner was right, she would be a little bit older than a year old. i will check out her abdomen tomorrow. We give them crushed egg shells very...

She never laid a single egg?

Hello! Before this winter, we bought two hens. A white one and a brown one. The previous owner said that they were both 8 months old at the time we got them. He also said that all of his chickens (he had a dozen) were laying. As soon as we took them home, the white one started laying about a...
