Chicken attacked by dog is it worth saving?

She is doing fine now. I’ve separated her from the flock but she seems determined to be with them. I’ve made sure they don’t peck at her but so far she is fine.

Chicken attacked by dog is it worth saving?

As I was coming home from school I saw my 6 month old golden retriever standing over my Wyandotte. I know she was just trying to play but I was pissed. I thought the chicken was dead and was taking a picture when suddenly, after the dog had left, it got up and walked away. It was as if the...

Cause of death for my chicken?

Why can't they have a shatter-proof teflon light? What happens to the chicken?

Don't think I'm going to go that far to see. Was just curios about your guys' opinions on what you think happened.

Cause of death for my chicken?

Alright so for FFA I had to take 4 of my chickens to my school shop for a petting zoo. Along those four, I chose a black sex link that I had really liked because it was a very calm bird. All day the hen was acting up, trying anything to get out of the coop. My initial thought was that she didn't...

Got chicks for the first time... Want input/advice

If you can't tell in the picture the front of the coop there is a hatch that opens inward, it was at one point a concessions shed. I plan on putting chicken wire over it and leaving it open during the day.

Got chicks for the first time... Want input/advice

Tell me if i’m wrong but i’m pretty sure i won’t need chicken wire underneath. All of the chickens will be in the coop during the night and i will have a door on the outside.

I see everyone with their fancy brooder boxes but all I did was block off a portion of my chicken coop and placed down wood shavings. Maybe not a good idea, not sure, give me your input.

Got chicks for the first time... Want input/advice

The coop is 12' by 6' and the run is 12' by 12' I live in northeast Nebraska. Yes there will only be 15 birds. I ordered 10 Wyandottes 10 Black Sex Links and a variety pack of 10 random brown egg layers.

Got chicks for the first time... Want input/advice

So i recently built a coop from a shed and added a run on to it. I don't know too much about chickens. I have about 30 but half of them are not staying when they are a bit older. I just want advice on what I could be doing better or what I should know about raising chicks because I have no...

Keeping predators out of the run

I've hear people keep them out of the run by digging down 1 ft and have hardware cloth in the hole then fill it in. I was wondering if you could just have the bottom of the run covered by hardware cloth.

How cheap could I build a chicken coop and run for 6 chickens?

Well it turns out I found a 12x10 shed and I think I'm gonna convert it into a chicken coop. This guy says I can have it if I work for him for 10 hours.

How cheap could I build a chicken coop and run for 6 chickens?

I wonder if it would just be easier to build a coop with 2x4's. Ill check my local store and see what they have though.

How cheap could I build a chicken coop and run for 6 chickens?

I'm looking at treated wood. Menard's is a big store like home depot, mostly in the mid west. My problem is that I can't find any 2 x 2's longer than 8 foot.

How cheap could I build a chicken coop and run for 6 chickens?

The coop you sent me calls for a lot of 2x2's. I checked online at my Menard's, but I couldn't find anything longer than 8 foot. If I did it with the 8 foot ones it would cost 150 dollars just for the 2x2's. I'm very new to building so I don't know much.

How cheap could I build a chicken coop and run for 6 chickens?

Well, my chickens would be in the run most of the time and would only free range about once a week. I would like a run that I can stand up in.

How cheap could I build a chicken coop and run for 6 chickens?

I really like that coop and its the perfect size for the number of birds I want. You've helped a lot, do you think that you could give me an estimate of how much that would cost. Also maybe a run that would be compatible with it.
