Hi I have Muscovy's and love them. Very tame and nice. Unfortunately, I just had 3 hatch eggs all at once! Too many for us. I've got a friend who wants 10 I think he will sell or put them on his farm. I'm wondering if it is better to leave a duckling or 2 with each Mom? I only had one other...
Help! In the past, due to storms etc., my muscovys eggs didn't hatch. I only had one hatch last year and put the mom and babies together in a small outside room until they got big enough to put in the yard. They did okay but the poop became an issue as it was a cement floor and the food costs...
Just had a hatch of baby ducks the last time this happened I was away and the rats or the drake and other duck got them all in a day according to my friend that was feeding them. So I found this early and brought them inside with mom overnight. However I have a rat proof small house I can put...
One thing I should mention... He seems to be in love with a particular hen. They were raised together. Now I have the hens and roosters seperated so that could be part of the issue but I have to say he was getting aggressive before. He literally gets on top of anything he can find and acts like...
I'm having the same problem. Hatched the rooster and he used to be one of the most affectionate pets I had now he attacks as soon as I come to the cage door. Worried he is teaching the other ones to do it too. Awful because I am attached to him and he is really beautiful.
I purchased 3 about 2 months ago at that time they seemed fully grown and had their feathers. I'm really not sure of their age the lady said young but I had read they begin laying soon. Well nothing! What sort of place have you set up for them to lay? These three seem to spend all day and most...
You brought up some great points! The fact that they are cute and run to me everyday when I go outside is an asset as well :). My problem is I now need to build another pen or add some fencing because the drake killed my only adult hen and attacked my rooster. I now have one set of 6 week chicks...
So many tractors are show pieces which is understandable for a backyard hobby. But many take a lot of skill to make as well as costly materials. I live in a place where finding cheap labor is impossible and a lot of materials are hard to get and super expensive so this idea really appeals to me.
I'm really interested. I have to get NPIP and paperwork to order here (Saipan) US protectorate. I've ordered eggs in the past but chick selection is limited here. Although I would order eggs I am interested in pullets as I could integrate them with my current bantam hatches 6- 14 weeks. Please...
Update: Today went outside and luckily saw my bantam standing on top of something and jumping on drake! Drake grabbed him and literally started to swing him around by his tail feathers. I yelled and they stopped. Lucky the drake didn't snap the bantam rooster's neck. Now keeping rooster separate...
