my Vorwerk is a fantastic bird, I would recommend to anyone fairly quiet and very contented, may take on the boss role more readily, in your flock. Very protective of its flock members.
I’m really interested in picking up a Buff Orpington or a Wyandotte hen, has anyone got either and could advise what to look out for regarding a good specimen
Thanks in advance
These are my other two hens,
The light Sussex is a little bantam, and the larger Cream legbar is a full size hen.
My Cream legbar lays Blue tinted eggs, and she is very friendly, but a little noisy at times ... usually because she would like a treat or two !! Always comes to see what I have for...
This is Tabasco, my Vorverk hen, she is quite fiery and nippy sometimes but a fantastic hen, definately the guardian for all the hens, she is alert and great at foraging ... it’s an old German breed, that has become quite popular again.
Hi all,
I’m from N.Ireland, Newtownards.
Have 3 Chickens, 1x Cream Legbar, 1x Light Sussex, 1x Vorwerk.
All healthy and giving me great eggs, been keeping them for about a year. Had a few Silkies for a bit but they all turned out to be Roosters... but that’s another story ... Ahem !

Hi there, been keeping chickens for about a year now and really enjoying it, I have 3 hens, 1x Vorwerk, 1x Light Sussex, and 1x Cream Legbar.
