My only Buff Orpington hen is about 5 years old. She had stopped laying eggs awhile back, but then we got a rooster and her egg production started back up. I can tell the buff's eggs are fertile when I crack them open. Should I attempt to incubate some? Or is she too old?

This is my first time incubating chicks. Today is 21st day and I have one chick breaking out! So exciting! But the humidity is dropping to 45%. Can I open and add water if chick is already coming out? Concerned about the others.

My hens vary in age, 3 little over a year old, and 4 about a year and a half, 3 buff orpingtons and 4 road island reds. We get 3 different color eggs, one buff lays green eggs. But the sizes are pretty consistent.
