Hey y’all!
I’m curious if anyone else has ever had this happen.
I have a hen (1) who had been sitting on eggs for weeks and they were due to start hatching anytime.
I also had another hen (2) trying to go broody. I wasn’t going to let her sit because it’s starting to get cooler…
I checked...
I have an 18 week old lavender Orpington that seems to have a beak issue. I noticed it this morning not sure if it’s anything I should treat or worry about... not sure if one of my older girls got her yesterday before they went up last night? I have two flocks of hens who have separate coops and...
hello! This is the first chicken issue I’ve had... I have no clue what to do or if I even should do anything yet. I have a 12 week old EE, Courtney. . This morning when I went out to check all the little girls I noticed Courtney had one eye closed. I inspected it and she will open the eye but...
Y’all have made me the happiest chicken mama! The reason I thought she was a cockerel is her feet are bigger than my lavender Orpingtons (I couldn’t remember my buffs at this age) and she started to get a comb before all the others and it’s That’s what got my wheels turning... She seems to be a...
I believe I have a Blue Orpington cockerel... I don’t want a one.
My last experience with a roo left me with a bad taste so I got an LGD and swore them off. But here we are... 12 weeks... please tell me I’m wrong!
There is a small run that will be attached to the new coop but not much of one.
Old coop I will keep in case I have to quarantine or get the fever for more... probably the latter.
What I’m currently doing until I get my new coop is when my girls are free ranging I put them in a cage and let...
Honestly I’m not sure feet wise but my 6 girls are in a coop and the roosting area is at least 3 times as big as their coop. I won’t be able to measure it u til it’s complete and delivered.
I wasn’t sure where to post this question and couldn’t find where is has been asked before.
I have 6 chicks who are 6 weeks old and 6 hens who will be a year old in September.
I will be introducing the chicks into the flock after my new coop is built. My new coop will probably be able to hold...
hi y’all!
We recently purchased a 15 week old Great Pyrenees who was brought up with chickens since the day she was born. I have a free range flock, 40 acres, ponds, cows, bees, barbed wire fencing... I know I can’t allow her until she is fully trained and old enough to protect them and trust...
You may want to consider getting a rooster, if your going to free range. We’ve had two dog attacks and lost only one hen because of him. He has taken the brunt of the beatings.
Hi!
Ours started free ranging at about two months old. We started them out only free ranging when we were outside and I’d say by the time they were 3 months we let them completely stay out as long as they wanted. We have 40 acres and they’ve never wondered off. They stay right around our house...
