I have read in other lists like this that oatmeal both cooked and raw is not good. Also, the chicken chick (if you are familiar with her) says it's a NO. Just my 2 cents.
I do none of the above! LOL I've had chickens for almost 8 years and I only have 5. I muck their coop every morning and they free range in my large back yard all day. I pooper scoop the yard several times a day. No special shoes or tools or clothing. I wash my hands when needed:)

It's not cruel since they feathers grow back and it doesn't hurt the chicken. I have clipped the wings on young birds until they learn to stay in the yard. I have not had to clip any for over a year.

I only have 4 and always make sure all four are in the coop before I lock them up. Makes sense no matter how many chickens you have. If you have too many to count you might have too many! LOL
I don't trim wings anymore since my 4 are perfectly content to stay in my yard during the day and they are locked up at night. I have never trimmed nails or oiled legs??!! I did have one I had to bathe because of a dirty butt and she was ill.
It depends on the day! Sometimes it's Little Freeloaders, usually sweet little fluff butts, Little rascals, and always at night when I lock them up safe and sound it's Goodnight Sweet Ladies:) I only have 4 so most of the time I call them by their names and they come to me.
I "crate trained" mine! I have small wire crate that has a front door and a door on top of the crate. I sprinkled meal worms in it and left the door open. They had no issues going in and out. After doing that for several days, I would quietly close the front door for a minute or two. After doing...
