Looking for Pastel Call ducks. Can take ducklings, hatching eggs, females, or a breeding pair or trio, no single drakes please, Ive got 2. In MN. Either need shipping or someone within an hour and a half of the twin cities. Looking now.
Our lovely, loyal 3yo call duck drake Wonky, is in need of a new flock. He's a chocolate magpie patterned call. He has been the best, but I'm starting to breed my calls again this year, and he's too closely related to too many of them. He is the gentlest thing and can't pin or grab females due...
I have to re-home some of my ducks asap to protect a hen as one of my Indian runner ducks has proved quite a hit with the flock. Organically raised, free range. They were hand raised, completely tame, and hand feed eagerly. Raised with my German Shepherd and good around dogs. Never have...
Well, Crispin is officially a hen! A friend vent sexed the poor dear. I am leaning to a WH/SA cross or something of the like...im fascinated with the colouration, one of the prettiest ducks I've had.
Well, my phone is being a poo, but here is a sound clip of Crispin talking after snack time.

Such a cutie. So confused on the breeding! Ok, I was confused on how that worked. This is my only social media account I use save a local equestrian email list :P Now my crested mallard is definitely a drake, all the putt putt putt sounds galore, so I've been comparing to that. I'll see if I can...
Any thoughts on Crispin's breed/sex now? Is a very talkative duck. I'm still leaning towards hen due to the multitonal voice and occasional loud outbursts. May just be a loud drake? Most confusing duck I've had.
So here is an update on Mystery Crispin. Kind of hard to tell due to bad light, but there is almost a pink tone on some areas like the chest and neck, and on the face. Bill is almost blueish like my campbell's.
Im definitely having a celebratory photo sesh today after errands and chores!!! Limon is very grateful and snuggly this morning. What a snuggle butt. Gets to go outside and play with everyone else again today!
Success!! It was indeed a blockage. Turns out Limoncello got into a few cigarette butts that a visitor left on the ground unbenownst to me. :( I always try to pick up what I can see, but I can't always see everything. Warmed Limon up and offered vitamins and a probiotic/electrolyte mix as well...
This was my thought as I have had an avian vet internship completed in college, I worked in wildlife biology before horses and farming. I think I'm going to grab some ringers lactate while I am out.
None of the avian vets I know are available. My regular vet says it may be a blockage or a toxin. I'm out having a cry, but will post a video when I get back home. At this point Limon is now just sitting still and not really moving at all anymore.
