    WHich duck???

Welsh or Buffs. I have a Buff I rescued thinking he was a duck Oh well he is little trouble. I also have runners and pekins . You may also consider hybrid 300 layers. If I had it to do over again I would either flock up on Buffs or hybrid layers.

Problem: overweight anconas, 15 wks old (more PICS NOW)

I would make them work/exercise for their food. Instead of putting the food in a nice convenient feeder scatter it through the pen. I cut my ducks to the minimum and they aren't even eating all of that. They are becoming better foragers. even in their pen they are finding lizards and bugs.

Bagged Frozen works but my ducks really love fresh picked peas.. SO I grew a row just for them, been producing all summer. I just tear the pods in half to expose the peas inside and give them a treat now and then. Other garden treats include some broccolli leaves and greens I grow specifically...
