    Well.... I must say after all the stuff I've read , we are going with no heat source. Emergency only if necessary. Thank you very much PS...fans used to move air made too much noise anyway.

    Hmmm... good point. Gonna have to check that. Heat "source" is a duct run from the house. No heat lamps as I've heard to many negative things. Thanks

    How cold can a single hen, in a coop built for 4 birds,extra straw in there to take up space, survive with no heat source. The coop does close up but door is not tight. just a temporary wood flap.

    We had 2 chickens raised together, 7months old. One turned out to be a rooster and had to go. Is the hen going to be lonely? Can we wait till she full grown to bring in new chickens, or do we need to act know. ( not sure what kind..gift..brown egg layer) any input would be helpful.
