There is a small park by a creek in the area where I live, and apparently someone dropped off this little gal. I stop and feed her every time I pass the park, and I'm just curious about what breed she is. Any thoughts?
The first pic is of his poop (obviously), the second is of the dry dandruff looking skin, and the third is where the back of his head and neck look different, and the fourth pic is of his uropygial gland
Hey y'all,
I have a sick baby (actually he is about 4 and 1/2 months old). Yesterday I noticed that he was off to himself behind the coop. When I picked him up he felt lighter than usual, and I noticed that he was lethargic. I let him stay inside away from all the other ducks and chickens. He is...
I dont think they froze. I'm in the Florida Panhandle (right where Hurricane Michael demolished everything just north of Panama City). She was sitting for 2 weeks that I know of. I noticed she was missing a few days before I found her with eggs. I could see what looked like chicks inside. I...
I had a broody hen up until about two days ago. She had 16 eggs under her and did really well with them for quite some time. Then she just got up and walked off and left them! I didn't realize that she wasn't sitting on them at all until last night. When I candeled them, I saw that there were...
Thank you. I've done my best to try to help them adjust so far, but now I will definately take the advice you all have given me. Hopefully it will help all of us rest a little easier.
Thank you so much. Yes, we were all traumatized from the storm. I live in Jackson County, and we had the eye come over our town. All my birds were in their coop with 160mph sustained winds! When the coop twisted and turned upside down, they were all smart enough to get under the house to ride...
Hey y'all! I have 2 quick questions... So, my chicken coop was destroyed by Hurricane Michael, and my chickens and ducks are pretty much free range since the storm. Ive got a pin for my ducks and have tried everything to get my chickens to roost inside a small shed in the backyard. They still...
Here are all three! I had to help the last one all the way out because his foot was over his head, but doing fine now! So much for them being Pekins! The Khaki Campbell didnt even give her a chance to warm up to him!
They are chirping away, but no pips yet. Im going to keep a close eye on them in case they need help too. Hopefully they will make it out soon too. Thank y'all so much! You guys have been awesome!
The egg on the bottom. I took your advice and laid it down on its side
Im pretty positive i saw independent movement. I could be wrong, but i thought about making sure the egg was completely still before determining i saw it move. It has been a long day, and definitely wouldnt be the first time...
Okay, so i am attaching another picture of the egg that is bruised. Hopefully it is a little better. There is DEFINITELY a live duckling inside bc he is moving (but seems to be struggling to do so). What makes it worse is that i accidentally cracked the egg slightly with my flashlight! The...
