Thanks for the feedback! I am making a run to Tractor supply tomorrow, and do you know any specific cream that will work? I forgot to say that I also have her drinking nutri- drench. I hope to send that turtle to meet its maker tommorow...
I have 5 6 week old ducks. Today, they graduated from the pen to the pond. I sat and watched them for about an hour, when one started going ballistic. I immediately threw my phone out of my pocket and jumped into the pond. I'm 14, so it wasn't too much trouble. She was squalling and going crazy...
I raise them for meat and eggs, and the eggs, while smaller, are extremely dense, and packed with vitamins. They are very easy to process. I can process one bird in about 3 minutes. There are many different colors, too.
I'm not trying to burst your bubble, but 15 dollars is a LOT for regular coturnix. I have never bought any more expensive than 4 dollars, and I have bought as low as 2 dollars before. I would check craigslist, Facebook marketplace, and call your local feed/hardware stores, and ask them If anyone...
I am wondering If I can introduce a female silkie into the coturnix quail flock. I have 10 quail in an 8x8 pen on the ground, and want to add a female silkie to hatch out quail eggs. Can I do this? Thanks!
They are only about the size of your hand, and I've seen people raise 20 in a 2x3 square foot cage with no apparent ill effects. They are about 1/10 the size of chickens, so it would be equivalent to giving a chicken 10 square feet.
Yes, I am talking about feet lol. After conversion, the pen is roughly 2.43m x 2.43m. I am planning on using basic, non-toxic pine mulch. I am raising Japanese Coturnix for meat and eggs but figured I should give them a better life than in a raised cage. I plan on putting about 45 in there. So...
I am constructing an 8x8 quail run in my backyard. It will be completely safe from all predators. What about rain? Do you suggest I put a sheet of tin over half of it, and leave the rest open, but with wire? Would mulch, over a layer of sand, be a good design for the floor? How many quail could...
I cut away the feathers, and cleaned the wound with saline, and let him rest for a couple of minutes. I came back and he had passed away, presumably from blood loss. Thank you all for your help and God bless you all.
yes, he is away from flies and gnats, and yes, he is awake. He is acting strange though. He is sluggish, and is not moving away from me as I try to pick him up.
