I noticed one of my birds has a watery liquid poop with 2 long skinny white worms in it. I'm not sure which one it came from. I've been observing to try and pin point which one (s) it is. I keep my coop extremely clean by cleaning coop and nesting boxes every day. I scrub down roosting bars with...
With great sadness I type- Yesterday just before dusk, something attacked my rooster. This is the second rooster in a month that was attacked in the same way. My birds free range. I went out to lock them up for bed and found a pile of feathers, no blood just a pile of feathers. I spotted a few...
Hello I thought I had replied to the post earlier. I will post a photo and give a update on what has happened since my last post. I have been continuing to bath minnie to keep her vent area clean, followed by good towel drying or blow drying if its cooler out. Each time I was able to get the...
I am currently treating my hen Minnie for a prolapsed vent. I pretty much a newbie, I have learned a lot more then I ever thought imaginable about chickens in the past year but I desperately need help. Minnie has a prolapsed vent and had had one before, to be honest I do not if she ever fully...
I hope it's not too late to write and get a response. I've been dealing with a hen that has a prolapsed vent for several weeks. This isn't the first time she's had a prolapsed vent but with that being said I don't think I ever got her to the point of full recovery. I have tried everything and...
You're all so helpful and informative THANK YOU! I'm going to go w/your suggestions and get those girls and coops mite free, worm free and healthy. Any suggestions on my coop issue, Let them stay in the small kit coop or close that off and force them back into the larger coop?
It's 17 Degrees here today with temps predicted to be 1 on Thursday so should I get on the coop cleaning now or wait a week to see if the colder temps subside a little. I hate knowing they have mites and that their living in a mite infested house. Should I allow them to live in the small coop or...
Thank you for your help. I just joined this group, "Oh how I wish I had joined sooner" I want to make sure I'm replying to each post but not sure I am. I am going to get Elector PSP or Ivermection pour on today to treat the birds and coop and also find out about worming and hopefully get things...
Also they seem to all gravitate to the smaller kit coop rather then our bigger coop. I'm trying to decided which coop to use, as I don't want to or need two coops and would like to have them all back in the larger coop. Once the coop is clean should I just put them back in the larger coop or...
Thank you. I watched the video. Is it okay to spray them down withe Elector PSP in these cold temperatures? I would think wet birds would equal sick birds, however I guess their already sick. Not sure what to do as far as that goes?
