@Miss Lydia id love to post some pics as soon as I can. I’ll try just the vet wrap and keep an eye on it and if I do decide to use baby aspirin to keep him up top so he can’t move too much. We haven’t gotten the liquid b complex yet but we are getting it this week
hi everyone. We brought home the Muscovy yesterday and brought them both inside together. First 10-15 seconds they didn’t seem to notice each other but when they did they went crazy! Both started quacking loudly and cuddling right up next to each other. Absolute love birds. It made me feel so...
@Miss Lydia i was going to get her a stuffed animal but luckily my cousin was more than willing to help out crackers and give us one of her ducks. It’s a female Muscovy so there’s a chance her and crackers could breed which would be exciting. Either way I’m more than relieved to have found a...
Thank you guys. Yeah my girlfriend is already starting to accept she may not be coming back. I have a cousin who has lots of ducks so maybe I can snatch one from her. Just because the female was able to fly I am confident she will be okay from predators just so upset for our pekin he’s already...
@CrystaBub that’s what we are hoping for. She wasn’t back this morning yet. My girlfriend isn’t taking it very well she just got over the pekin and was happy we don’t have to put him down. The poor pekin hasn’t moved from where he was when she ran away.
Okay. Yeah definitely a mallard then because she’s about half the size of our pekin. When I bought them the guy said neither could fly so I wasn’t too worried. I have seen her once so far she flew away from me farther into the woods. Probably about a half mile or less from my house. I’m going to...
Okay. we do think it’s a female she was never able to fully “fly” but I did see her once so far and she was flying pretty darn well. She never took many treats it was always the other who would eat them she never would. She has always been skiddish and jumpy. I was riding my quad around the farm...
Hi everyone. Little update. Haven’t found much that works well on his foot. I am in the middle of building something and today I opened their cage went inside to fill their water came back and in the 3 minutes I was inside the other duck ran away. I’ve been searching everywhere for about 30...

@Teesha thabk you very much! We bought a few things today that we are going to try just for short term while we figure out something long term. He’s been great still isn’t showing any signs of pain just trying not to put weight on his leg. The vet did say other than his legs he is 100% healthy...
Okay. I think something along the lines of the foam for shoes would work great. I will definitely try that out. As for wrapping the hock I’ve heard on of the best ways would be do a figure 8 around the hock. Would that be enough on its own or should I do some light ace bandage type material all...
They did do an x ray so they ruled out anything broken. I think the tendon is slipped too. Sorry for asking so many dumb questions haha but when you say from one hock to the other do you mean on the other leg? Or just above and below with the figure 8 pattern
I’m thinking I will go with a splint for some time as well as water therapy. I’m just confused as to how I should wrap the splint. Should I wrap from above the hock and go all the way down? I was also going to do two pieces of cloth on top and bottom of her foot to keep her foot level
Thank you all so much for the help. I think a splint will help a lot in getting her to walk on that foot some more. We are gunna try the vitamin B as well as lots of water therapy. Still not entirely sure what to do for the splint but I was thinking something like that photo eggcessive posted...
