So! We recently got some chicks from TSC. Two chicks, the biggest ones, got my eyes. Their crests look like mohawks! They defiantly arent polish either. What breed are these two?
Honestly, we've always gotten TSC chicks, and we almost always get correct species. Thing is, they think easter eggers are red sex link cockerels... We've tried getting easter eggers a few times and every. single. time. They end up being red sex link cockerels. Not sure what that's about. :hmm...
Only a couple days old.
They are in a temporary brooder right now because theirs broke. It's just a cardboard box. Do you still want a picture? They'll be out of it in about 1 day and I'll see if the standing continues
So, we recently got 10 chicks from our feed store. There is one Americauna that just stands around a lot of the time. Good poops, eating and drinking pretty good, but often I will find it just standing there.
Should I add electrolytes to the water or something?
I'll try to get some pictures.
I have no syringes. We'll try to buy betadine anyway (good for all creatures of the household) if we have time. I don't think we have other antiseptics other than hydrogen peroxide.
Edit: It's just really strange, 2 chickens were clearly killed, but two were left...
I didn't put on Neosporin cream, it was the other type. Is this bad or will it just not help?
I also did the wash, the wound is a lot worse than I thought, a decent part of it is just scabbing nicely on its own (only like 2 puncture wounds that aren't that bad).
Should I do another saline wash...
The only predator we've had before were weasels. We're wondering if that could've been them, but it's strange none of our eggs have been taken. We'll wash with a saline solution, but we don't have any Chlorhexidine.
So yesterday I went out to the coop to find what looked like a chicken massacre. Sadly, something had taken two of my chickens. This morning, another one was attacked. It wasn't that bad, just missing a good amount of feathers on her back. She also had a few puncture wounds though. I washed it...
No molting. The chickens are young and egg laying is quite spotty, so I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary.
Edit: Didn't see your most recent post! I'll try to get a pic of poop, she doesn't poop much. No discharge or sneezing.
