I’m new at this but I’m certain that number 3 is a Roo because his comb has grown larger and 4 is a hen because there’s no pink. 1 and 2 their combs have no gotten larger since going pink. Any guesses oh wise backyardchicken gurues?
Hey y’all! So I’m curious as to the behavior of my chickens right now. The buff is a suspected rooster and is 6 weeks, 2 OEGB hen/Roo I suspect, 5 weeks and a GLW 3 weeks. I’m just wondering why they’re all snuggled up like that. They’re not outside full time yet but it’s around 78 degrees right...
I came out with four more baby chicks♀️I went in for feed for my 7 other babies!! I’ve been wanting golden laced Wyandotte’s for years and I just couldn’t pass head fluffies up!
My names amanda and I have a problem...(first step is admittance right?)
I had a similar experience but I had picked them up from our local TSC. I bought six bantams that arrived that day and I lost ALL but one. TSC did replace the ones that died within 24 hours (four) and when the last one passed (who was up running/eating/drinking around before) I bought more that...
Thanks everyone for your help. I know it’s early and to be honest the only reason I was asking is because I wanted to go get four more babies so I was using it as an excuse to convince my husband that we needed more. Regardless I ended up going to get my golden laced and I’ll keep my fingers...
Good morning. So I’ve become worried that my favorite chicken is a rooster! She’s around 3-4 weeks. I know it’s impossible to tell at such a young age but I was hoping one of you has had experience and could give an educated guess!
Mine too! Granted she’s a bantam but I have another that I got at the same time and she’s bigger than her. I’m going to try the above ideas. Thanks for the suggestions and good luck to us all!
Thanks! I assumed but didn’t know if they were specific to aquatic pets lol.
I know there are many ways to do grit, do I mix it with their food or offer it on the side in its own bowl so that it can be “dual purpose” as a dust bath as well?
hello!
So I have these left over blood worms from my beta fish and I’m just wondering if they’d be alright to give to the chicks? I know meal worms are a nice treat for them once they’re age 2 weeks and up so I’m just curious if anyone has ever tried or heard of giving blood worms. I’m only...
Thanks for all your responses! All butts are clean! (For now lol). No one is picking on her and she has drank water then I’ve either dipped her beak into or rubbed a drop on her beak. She’s wiggled around a little bit still not up and moving.
