Thanks. He was alert and chirping and moving and did ok for a bit then we went out to check on him and he was gone :( I read where it’s kind of 50/50 on of they survive or not. I was really hoping he/she would make it.
My husband found this duck in the coop still half in its egg in the mud :( he peeled some of the egg off not thinking. What do I do?? It’s now on a towel under the heat lamp. Do I try to feed it later?
It’s been on the high 80s for a few weeks with today being a tad cooler and rain this morning. I saw movement in some eggs while candling a few before I let the ducks back in so I hope that’s a good sign!
I have a momma duck that has been sitting on eggs for a few weeks, I have been candling them once in a while when I am able, and they all look viable. My husband sprayed the coop wall with raid due to a wasp nest and kicked the birds out for a few hours so they wouldn’t be around the fumes. I...

I was looking for ideas of things to put around the yard and coop that might scare off other animals. Flags are a good idea. Maybe scare crows or things that move?
My husband works with a guy who had a bat in his house. The Wholee family had to get the rabies series as a precaution. I never knew you had to if it was just caught in your house. When I was a kid, we had a fireplace and once every few years we would get one trapped in the house. Never got...
I did actually call the vet when it happend and she didn’t mention anything about watching for signs of disease... I wasn’t sure if ducks could get rabies even.
Absolutely! I wasn’t sure if water fowl could get rabies or not. I know bats are carriers bit not sure if birds can get it. I did have quite a bit of blood all over me from both of them but it was right after the incident.
About 24 hours after, both Pekins are outside in the outside enclosure and moving around. Not sure if they are eating or drinking but they are doing much better than I thought they would. Fingers crossed!
