These two babies are 5 weeks old. Would you say pullet or cockerel? They are both developing wattles already and they look pink. 😩 Neither have shown any cockerel “behaviors” yet.
**UPDATE** I took Goldie to the avian vet yesterday. After an X-ray, it was confirmed that she fractured her knee is multiple places. The vet was able to put her in a splint and give her some pain meds. She will need to be separated from the flock and I have to try to keep her as immobile as...
She just turned a year old. I’m not sure if she was vaccinated from Marek’s. I purchased her at tractor supply. Here are 2 videos- the first is from the morning it happened and the one of her on the dog bed was after about 24 hours.
She was fine when I let her out of the coop yesterday morning. She was fine pecking around in the yard. About 10 min later I noticed she was laying funny and thought she was dirt bathing at first. When I went to pet her she jumped up and started hopping off and acted like she was in pain. I’ve...
3 week old midnight majesty marans chick purchased as a pullet from TSC. I haven’t seen any obvious roo behaviors yet but the comb is big and the chick has small tail feathers(and some seriously huge feet )... what say you?
Does anyone have any photos or personal experience with the breed? I purchased a mottled Java pullet from TSC a little over a month ago. She was the fattest fluffball ever but she is the most skittish, scared of her own shadow CHICKEN I’ve ever seen! I’d like to know more about them but it...
I’m a new chicken mama so this may sound like a dumb question...
Can I add an adult hen to my flock? The hen is around a year old and my babies are between 1.5-3 months old.
I have 3 Easter Egger cockerels I posted on a local chicken group and someone offered to trade one of their pullets for...
Pretty babies! Mine are 5 weeks and their combs are a lot more noticeable than your chickies. I’m no expert(AT ALL!) but comparing your chicks to my 3, I’d say yours is a pullet and mine are cockerels. I’ve heard that EE are hard to sex based on their comb so I’m waiting til I hear them crow.
I purchased these guys when they were a few days old. Was told they were a mix of Cochin, Silkie and Serama.
With the gray roo, he has feathered feet a funky comb and has started growing a toupee looking bunch of feathers on top of his head.
The black chick is super tiny. Smaller than the...
I’d guess pullet! My Easter Eggers are also 4 weeks old and their combs look bigger and more defined. Even my EE that I’m thinking is a pullet has a bigger comb than your girl! She’s beautiful(and I love her name!)
