Sorry, the crop.
Feels like a large hard lump. It seems ribbed. Not sure if this is part of the hen or something they swallowed. But given the other symptoms I'm thinking it's the latter.
New update:
There is something hard to the left of the gizzard. We are thinking this could maybe be something too big that the hen swallowed or something else stuck in there.
I feel that infection is more likely due to the fact that it appeared overnight.
Someone also suggested that there could be something stuck in the throat, but I'm not sure if that would cause this amount of swelling.
I am asking my partner to one right now, I also considered it getting something stuck in there.
It's also not moving its neck, so that seems like a possibility.
My partner just noticed it today when he went to check on the hens. Last night she seemed fine, if it was there we definitely did not notice it.
She is not eating or drinking because she is struggling to breathe.
Went to check on my young hens today and found one with this.
It is a large sac under the tongue and is bloody.
I have isolated her from the rest of the group but am wondering if this is contagious to the other hens, and what I can do about this.
Thank you!
