    Friendly Ringneck Pheasant?

From my experience even if you do get a ringneck somewhat tame (which I think is gonna be VERY hard to do) you had better watch out for him when its breeding season. The ones I have stay pretty calm in the winter but when spring rolls around you better keep your eye on him when you go in the pen...

    Emu marketing ??

Hi guys, I have been thinking about getting an emu or two. They will basically be pets but as other birds I have, I know I could find myself with quiet a few down the road . The main thing I would like to know is that if I start getting alot of eggs or raising a lot of emu where do you sell...

well i did it !AGIAN! i eggs and placed them in the incubator TUNE IN

I've a lot of people say its best not to label the box as eggs. Just putting fragile on it seems to be better. Putting eggs on it seems to make the mailmen be rougher with the package. Thats just what I have heard and don't know for sure. As far as a Saturday shipment. Unless it was possible...

Looking for emu/rhea hatching eggs... Does anybody have any?

I would try to find eggs close enough to pick up personally. If that isn't possible, then shipping is your only alternative. I would then look for someone who has shipped before and had decent hatch rates. That being said ebay is just as viable a source as any, many of the members here sell on...

I'm bout fed up with ebay buyers!! Update... It just gets better!

Oh boy I have to weigh in on this one. I am a seller and buyer on ebay. Not of eggs but many other things. I have been on ebay since 1999. In that time I have only had a few bad experiences with sellers I have bought from. I had a few burn me on shipping in the beginning days of ebay. That...

Don't understand. Don't you have the cock in the pen with the hens. If your talking about 2 different breeding pens, then I say yep go ahead and put something up and see what happens, couldn't hurt anything. That way he can focus his attention on his own hens, but I suspect he probably is...

    Difference between Imperator & Spalding

Spauldings could look almost 100% like any of the muticus sub species, as can they look more like the blues, its all according to how much of the blood from either species that they contain. How do you tell the difference between them and spaldings? Sometimes it may just depend on knowing...

Are Male Peafowl usually aggressive to people?

Whacking may or may not work. I have whacked many animals to establish myself at the top of the peking order. It usually works with everything but birds. I think maybe their bird brain just forgets it. I had a rooster that had to be reminded who was boss about every 4 or 5 days. I have a mean...

    will a chicken sit on

Yeah you can put about anything under a hen and they will hatch it. As a matter of fact, many people put peafowl eggs under a hen for a week or so and then transfer them to the incubator later. Many people swear by this method saying that by being under the hen for a while it increases hatches...

I hope everyone got through the rains ok. It rained here (greene county) all night. Nothing to bad though. Just a solid all night rain that will help the gardens grow. If it keeps this kind of weather up we are all gonna have to get ducks. LOL Just to let everyone know I still have a few of...

Sq/ft per bantam in the coop and run?

I have seramas and I can run several roosters at one time in a pen. They aren't overly aggressive. If I introduce a new rooster they might fight, or more like spar, until one shows its dominance and then everything is fine. They will even do this if I remove one from the pen for a little while...

    Price of peafowl

Wow, I would like to find some for $20. Around here plain blues and black shoulder go for $30-$50 for young birds. $50-$125 for adults. Greens, pied, and white I'm not sure about. I can't even really find any close by for sale. Of course now that I'm breeding peafowl I'm sure the price will...

    Two coops, one run?

I don't understand here. If all the chickens share an undivided run, what's to keep them from piling up in the same coop at night? Which is what I think would happen. This would defeat the purpose of 2 coops.
