Thank you so much for your reply. Very interesting and something I will take a look at. Just to let you know, there was no membrane, just the white and the yoke. Oyster shell is fed separately. It's only in this one chicken. Looking at some dietary issues as well as being a new layer...
A friend has chickens and they are about 8 months old. One of them lays an "egg" that only has the white and the yolk. Sometimes the membrane will be with yolk, but I was wondering what might cause this and if anyone had any ideas how to help the chicken lay fully develop eggs. They are being...
My turkey seems lethargic, doesn't want to eat his banana treat and leans forward like he's trying to poop, but then doesn't. Petey is a very special turkey that doesn't mind being petted and wants to be around everyone. He gentle and sweet. Please, if you can advise me I'd be eternally...
I'm very sorry I didn't respond earlier, I don't get on this site as often as I should. The vet, who was a bird specialist, was unable to identify and labeled it "undetermined virus". The bottom line is we had to put him to sleep. He just would not respond to any of our efforts and it wasn't...

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? I've been around chickens many times, but this is the first time I've owned them. They are so much fun and entertaining!
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? We have 23 Hens, 6 Guinness fowl, two turkeys (Tom and...
